談話結束後，有抗議民眾將抗議布條直接蓋在張榮恭頭上，引發張榮恭不悅，還有人丟鞋，但未擊中張榮恭，張榮恭立即將抗議布條揉捏成一團。

連戰等人走機場商務中心通關出境，隨後到華航貴賓室休息，下午三時餘牽著連方瑀的手步出貴賓室，在大批人員護送下，前往登機門登機。
